JWT Culture

Once a month at JWT, we all get together for a company breakfast to celebrate our people and communicate happenings in the business.  I usually post a picture on Facebook and write a quick one-liner but I thought I would change it up and write more about this on our blog.  I think it is important for people to understand our culture here at JWT.

Led by our General Manager, Leigh Townsend, at each monthly breakfast we let everyone know about community events we have participated in, announce new certification achievements and important company information, and we give out awards including one for best attitude called The Townsend Way award.

Photos are an integrated part of our culture as well.  We take photos of jobs from beginning to end so we can excite each other about the projects we’re working on and the projects we’ve recently completed.  A photo slideshow is displayed during breakfast which brings a sense of community as we all get an idea of what each department has been working on for the past month.  It gives our staff a sense of pride for their beautiful work to be shown and admired.

Safety is a critical part of our monthly get-togethers and is headed by our Special Projects and Safety Manager, Ernesto Dovis.  This month he organized a talk on properly using chemicals, chemical containers and the importance of safety gear.  You never know when these talks will resonate with someone and save them from a safety mishap.

Camera pics breakfast april 2014 (19)A family owned and operated company, our people are the most important part of our business.  We invest a lot of care and resources into training and certifying our staff.  The products and services you receive from us begin with this very important process.  Before our team even steps foot onto your property, they are trained (most are certified) and understand something called The Townsend Way.  The Townsend Way emphasizes the importance of attitude and its place in ensuring a quality product in the field.

As you can see, it is all about our people and teaching them what we have learned in the (over) thirty years we have been in business.
