Estate Gardening

Our garden maintenance staff is completely separate from our planting staff and dedicated specifically to the Estate Garden program.

We can provide a short term or long term care of your gardens.

What does our maintenance program offer?

Our basic program includes, but is not limited to, the following services; as part of our estate gardening program, we are happy to:

• Keep accurate records concerning all aspects of horticultural care of your property
• Haul away and dispose of (off-site) all vegetative debris generated on this site
• Hand weed (and spray, if possible) all beds and hardscapes
• Hand prune all plants, as needed (no tree climbing)
• Deadhead and "pinch back" perennials, as necessary
• Perform fall/spring cleanup of annual/perennial beds and ornamental grass plantings
• Fertilize all bulbs, after flowering, with Bulbtone
• Apply organic fertilizer, such as Sustane (5-2-4), on all shrub beds, under small ornamental trees, at the recommended rate in the spring and fall seasons
• Annually re-edge existing mulched beds with a "V-ditch" edge
• Install premium double shredded hardwood mulch in plant beds
• Remove leaves and debris from the bed areas in spring and autumn (lawn areas are not included)
• Fertilize annuals, as necessary
• Monitor and diagnose minor plant insect/disease problems

We can also offer the following services, for your specialized needs:

• Apply deer control products, as needed
• Lawn aeration, overseeding and fall fertilization
• Top dress all shrub beds with ½" of composted manure in mid winter to early spring
• Take two (2) soil samples per year and send for diagnosis

While we can anticipate the level of care, each site is different with different needs. Each program is tailored to the specific needs of each garden. Therefore, we invoice the actual labor, equipment and materials used on the site, on a monthly basis.
