Jay is the founder and president of J. W. Townsend, Inc. He received his B. S. degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech. He has over twenty-eight years of industry experience and is a Virginia Certified Horticulturist with the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association. Phil is Vice President and Installation Manager. He attended the University of South Carolina and Virginia Tech. He has more than twenty years of industry experience, sixteen of which have been with J.W. Townsend, Inc. Phil is a Certified Horticulturist with the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association and a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture. Steve is our Vice President and Garden Maintenance Manager. Steve grew up on his family’s farm in Orange, Virginia and studied horticulture at Piedmont Virginia Community College. He has more than 10 years of experience in the industry and is an Advanced Virginia Certified Horticulturist with the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association as well as a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture. Steve lives in Louisa with his wife and three children. They enjoy gardening, hiking and traveling.Edward Yates nursery@townsendlandscape.com
Ed is our Nursery Manager. He received his Associates Degree in Fish and Wildlife Management and is a Certified Prescribed Burn Manager. He is a Certified Horticulturist with the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association. He has over fifteen years experience in natural resource management, horticulture and landscaping. Ed is a father of two who enjoys fishing and spending time outdoors.Adam Crouch adam@townsendlandscape.com
Adam handles business development and is also a project coordinator. He is an Advanced as well as Certified Virginia Horticulturist through the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association. He has over ten years of horticultural experience and is truly passionate about plants, shrubs and landscape construction. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and young daughter.-

He received his B.A. in Business Administration from Ashford University in Clinton, IA.Gregg has over fifteen years experience in the construction industry as an accountant, estimator and human resources manager. In his spare time, he likes fishing and being with his wife and children.

Dutchie is our Staff Accountant. She received her B. A. degree in Liberal Arts with minors in French and Mathematics from West Virginia University. She has thirteen years experience in marketing and organizational management. Dutchie is a mother and wife who enjoys gardening, reading and bird watching.
