J.W. Townsend, Inc. began in 1983 specializing in garden installation with a specific focus on site anaylsis, bed preparation, and plant installation. We handle perennials, groundcovers, woody ornamentals and trees. We source material from high quality growers primarily in the mid-Atlantic and northeast.
Our philosophy and daily goals (mission statement) are to satisfy our customers so completely with the quality of our work, our commitment to service, and our professionalism, that they deliberately seek us out again.
Generally, 75% of our annual sales represent residential, farm and estate customers and the balance is institutional and commercial. We have many repeat customers from year to year.
